Kleinfelder is looking for a Divisional Health and Safety Leader for our South Division.

Responsibilities

  • Manages implementation of and improvements to the corporate safety program while serving as a technical resource to the Division and our clients.
  • Works collaboratively with Divisional, Market, and Corporate safety management to create, enhance, and monitor health and safety processes, policies/procedures while consulting with management and staff for health and safety activities.
  • Promotes and creatively improves Kleinfelder’s Health and Safety culture, systems, and tools and has the technical knowledge and resources to support the geographical area as the resident expert regarding Health and Safety.
  • Understands and supports client H&S programs, including work plan development or review, site/facility Health and Safety auditing, technical evaluations, and incident investigations, and is skilled at effective communication with internal and external clients.
  • Ensures effective case management and application of engineering and/or administrative controls and technology to analyze and eliminate conditions contributing to occupational hazards and diseases.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Experience: 8- to 9-years of related experience including 5- to 6-years of health and safety experience in a consulting engineering firm or related service business with 3- to 4-years of health and safety coordination and/or management experience in a company of similar or larger size required. Knowledge of and experience with applicable laws and regulations required.
  • Certification/Registration: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
  • Other Knowledge and Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Education: BS degree in Health and Safety, Engineering or other related discipline required. Master’s degree preferred.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Working knowledge of federal and state safety laws, particularly RCRA & OSHA standards and regulations.
  • Understanding and applying meaningful operations and safety performance standards and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to plan and execute events, safety meetings, incident investigations, and safety celebrations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint
