ERM is seeking a Consulting Associate, Health and Safety (Entry Level) to join our team to play a key role in our growing Safety Services Team.  We are looking for focused and energetic professionals to bring their health and safety technical capabilities to help the worlds’ most dynamic companies in the tech, manufacturing, power, entertainment,

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and implement innovative H&S programs and strategies that support clients in managing their safety and compliance risks, in areas such as chemical management, occupational health programs, construction, safety management systems, process safety and risk management, industrial hygiene assessments.
  • Assess regulatory compliance across various safety programs through audits and review of client programs and systems.
  • Support production safety in spending time on-site and sets with clients throughout the region to work with Production teams in the planning and execution phase of projects, coordinate or implement training for Production personnel to increase understanding of risks and protective measures
  • Support development and implementation of safety management systems and programs for clients.
  • Support construction capital projects providing verification audits of general contractors and field EHS compliance support.
  • Support our clients’ desire to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.
  • Develop an understanding of how your work affects our clients’ business objectives and help them achieve these objectives.
  • Participate as an enthusiastic team member on project teams and effectively complete assignments.
  • Learn and grow as a safety professional through frequent internal and external training as well as exposure to interesting projects and advanced customer experiences.

Job Requirements

  • 0+ years (1-4 years preferred) relevant experience in working with organizations on safety and risk management, leadership/culture, and/or sustainable EHS compliance. Be passionate about safety performance improvement and have substantial experience developing and delivering world-class EHS program solutions and supporting implementation. BS/MS degree preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting, with guidance and direction.  Ability to be adaptable, deal with ambiguity, and flexible to changing situations, able to think outside the box, and to identify and respond rapidly to safety issues in field locations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, MS Office computer, and analytical skills; experienced in writing technical reports.
  • Willingness to travel, both within the United States and to international locations in support of client programs.  Up to 50% travel may be required.
