The Site Safety and Health Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety on construction sites. This role involves conducting safety audits, inspections, and providing training to ensure all personnel adhere to established safety protocols. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety training programs for site personnel.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety standards and regulations including OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities and incidents.
- Collaborate with site management to promote a culture of safety and health.
- Prepare and present reports on safety performance and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development of health and safety policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental Science or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry.
- Certifications such as OSHA 500, OSHA 30-Hour Construction, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, and CHST preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
- Experience conducting safety audits and inspections.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene and incident investigation techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and influence others.
