Our Restoration & Renewal practice provides owners and managers with a home for solutions to a wide range of structural, envelope, and building systems needs for existing properties of every use, age, and construction type. Our multidisciplinary design and assessment services cover a wide range of needs. We perform condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies, and peer reviews. We design repairs, renovations, and alterations and oversee their execution in the field.
The Role
We have an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Senior Project Engineer for our Restoration & Renewal Practice. We are looking for a licensed electrical engineer with 6-10+ years of experience in building renovation and design projects. You will be responsible for the design and evaluation of a broad range of electrical systems including, at a minimum, building distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and emergency power generation, for commercial and residential buildings of varying sizes and complexities.
Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $99,750 - $130,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Perform the required electrical calculations, complete design, and equipment selections for a broad range of project types.
- Lead the analysis of low voltage electrical distribution systems.
- Collaborate with senior staff for review, direction and approval of design during development.
- Develop complete design/renovation construction and filing drawings.
- Prepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, reports, and specifications
- Work cohesively with our in-house multidisciplinary team of professionals, which includes structural engineers, architects, HVAC engineers, electrical engineers, plumbing/fire protection engineers, and site civil engineers, on projects of widely varying sizes and complexities.
- Act as electrical project lead on various projects, attend project meetings as required.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships and develop new client relationships.
- Support in the development of scope and fee proposals.
- Support in the management of project budgets, scheduling, and staffing.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Master's degree preferred.
- New York P.E. required
- Significant knowledge of and experience with the NYC building code, NYC Electric Code, NEC, NFPA 72, NYC Energy Conservation code and ASHRAE 90.1
- 6-10+ years of experience focused on electrical design/renovation projects for commercial and residential buildings. Experience with institutional, educational, and/or transit facilities a plus
- Proficient in AutoCAD, experience with REVIT a plus
- Demonstrated ability to maintain existing client relationships, effectively manage projects, supervise/mentor junior staff
