Summary

The Experienced Fire Service Technician is for the LA Division an experienced position. Having a go-getter attitude, good attendance, and the desire to grow is vital to the success of this position. [This position includes both Residential and Commercial systems, CPVC, or Steel piping, and can be alternated as needed.]

Pay: $49.80 - $56.76 per hour

Responsibilities

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints/designs.
  • Have a working knowledge of some or all of the following documents: NFPA 25, 13D, 13R, and 13.
  • Interface with customers, property managers, and superintendents.
  • Have a working knowledge of steel piping and CPVC (both are preferred, but not required).
  • 5-year internal valve and pipe obstruction investigations.
  • Inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems.
  • Exercise and test control valves, supervisory devices, waterflow devices, etc.
  • Isolate and drain fire sprinkler systems of all types.
  • Flushing of various system types.
  • Installation, service, and replacement of sprinkler heads, valves, fittings, and hydrants.
  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
  • Prove a minimum of 2-3 years of full-time experience in the trade.
  • A clean driving record is a plus.
  • Motivated and a self-starter.
  • Able to work independently and give and follow directions.

Job Requirements

Education And Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Blazemaster, OSHA 10, and CPR/First Aid training must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment.

Qualifications

  • This job requires that you can read, write, and speak English. It is required to have the ability to comprehend instructions, write correspondence, and read lists and reports.
  • This job requires the use of Paycom, Outlook, and BuilderTrend. Basic knowledge of mobile devices for communication.
  • Basic math skills are a necessity. The ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Requirements

This job requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and arms to reach, climb and balance, stooping, kneel, crouching, talking and hearing; lift up to 100lbs; and have clear, color vision.

  • Standing: Remains in standing position to perform various functions of the job.
