Seeking a Sr. Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer to develop standards for plumbing and fire protection design documents, including drawings, sprinkler design criteria specifications, preliminary hydraulic calculations.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Looking for a Sr. Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer. You will play a key role in designing building systems for a variety of projects, including museums, performance centers, academic institutions, collaborative workspaces, and high-end residences
- Develop standards for plumbing and fire protection design documents, including drawings, sprinkler design criteria specifications, preliminary hydraulic calculations, fire pump selection, and code analysis
- Conduct field surveys of existing conditions and assist the construction administration department in reviewing plumbing and fire protection system installations
- Review architectural and engineering drawings for conformance with model and local codes, as well as NFPA standards
- Research model and local codes, as well as nationally recognized standards to support project code compliance
- Design plumbing systems (e.g., central domestic water heating plants, backflow preventers, medical gas, etc.) and fire protection systems (e.g., NFPA 13, fire pumps, and hydraulic calculations)
- Attend project team meetings (Architect, Engineers, Construction Manager, Owner, etc.) throughout the design process to coordinate both space requirements for plumbing and fire protection equipment and distribution routing for these systems.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of experience in a similar role within an engineering or related environment
- Knowledge of the design of plumbing and fire protection systems
- Familiarity with Autodesk REVIT MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of the design of plumbing systems (central domestic water heating plants, backflow preventers, medical gas, etc.) and fire protection systems (NFPA 13, fire pumps, hydraulic calculations, etc.) is a requirement.
