Stepan is seeking an EHS&S Manager to join our plant team in Anaheim, CA. In this role, you will report to the Plant Manager and be an integral member of the Plant Leadership Team. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading and managing safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement across all aspects of EHS&S in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Job Description

Stepan is seeking an EHS&S Manager to join our plant team in Anaheim, CA. In this role, you will report to the Plant Manager and be an integral member of the Plant Leadership Team. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading and managing safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement across all aspects of EHS&S in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Environmental, Health and Safety, & Security Leadership                                                                                    

  • Ensures plant and corporate EHS&S policies and guidelines are strictly adhered to (i.e. MOC, permits).
  • Ensures alignment with Corporate EHS&S initiatives and objectives. Maintains close communications with Corporate EHS&S for collaboration and guidance as required.Safety Programs Management & Training
  • Manages the safety training programs including providing direction and continuous improvement to meet safety, environmental and operational training requirements. Environmental Compliance
  • Responsible for timely and complete sampling activities and reporting for overall environmental compliance, including on regulatory agency portals, websites, etc.
  • Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed shoes, full face respirator, hearing protection, etc.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
  • Ability to work in high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, and noisy surroundings.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in chemical plant environment with hazardous materials.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs/ladders over 75ft.
  • Ability to facilitate safety and environmental training. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education
  • B.S. Degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience performing/managing EHS&S within a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred professional safety and/or environmental certifications (CSP, CSSE, OHST, etc.).
