Entry Level Designer Position
We are looking for entry level fire protection designers/engineers. This position will be available to graduates having a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering. The position does require proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel and Outlook email as well as working knowledge in 3D modeling .
In conjunction with on-the-job training, duties to include (but not limited to) the following: performing entry-level technical engineering tasks and becoming familiar with NFPA Code requirements; working/training with a senior designer, assisting with design of some of the largest projects in the NYC Metro area; analyzing MEP documents, surveying job site conditions.
Responsibilities
The ultimate goal for this candidate is to be able to create and coordinate fire protection system layouts and documents; attend and participate in BIM (3D) coordination, draft installation fire protection design layout, perform hydraulic calculations and pump rooms design. The candidate will need to learn to communicate with project managers to order/fabricate material/equipment as well as with field personnel to ensure a smooth installation process by utilizing applicable codes and regulations in order to provide code compliant and accurate installation drawings for fire protection systems.
If desiring to obtain a PE license we provide supervision and ability to work under a licensed Professional Engineer to satisfy those requirements for the right candidate.

Starting Salary Range $60K - 70K
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
