Fire/Life Safety Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will participate in the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art fire alarm and sprinkler equipment, including fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals.   • The pay range for this position is $40,880 - $70,080. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.

Responsibilities

As a Fire/Life Safety Technician, you will:

  • Assist with the commissioning of new fire/life safety systems on construction ensuring seamless integration
  • Assist with testing and inspecting of existing fire alarm and sprinkler systems
  • Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader
  • Complete commissioning within planned timelines
  • Submit accurate time and expense logs
  • Work overtime when needed

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Electro-mechanical experience (wither from a previous role or through education) and user PC/software skill
  • For the first year of employment, must be willing and able to travel 50% of the time
  • Must be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations 
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
  • 6+ months experience installing commercial fire alarm and sprinkler equipment 
  • Ability to read/understand design and construction documents
