Responsibilities

Produces detailed design documents from project specifications, architectural drawings, and coderequirements. Designs the sprinkler system and creates shop drawings. Creates submittal packages and stocklists, works with purchasing to order material, provides consultation for project managers regarding designchanges, produces status reports and acts as a key

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:• High School diploma or GED• 5 years of sprinkler system design experience• Familiarity with and ability to read, interpret, and apply NFPA (13) standard to new designrequirements• Proficient use of AutoCAD to autonomously design sprinkler systems• Solid knowledge of hydraulic calculations; strong math skills• Strong organizational and time management skills with great attention to detail• Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently• Ability to travel occasionallyPreferred Qualifications:• Experience designing industrial fire sprinkler systems• Proficient use of HydraCAD to design sprinkler systems• Experience using HydraCALC• NICET certifications in Water Based Systems Layout• Experience performing job-site field checks/surveys• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Commitment to continuous improvement• Applicable degree from a technical school or college is a plus• Experience with industrial fixed spray & deluge applications is a plus• Ability to utilize BIM (Building Information Modeling), 3D CAD environment is a plus• CFPS certification (Certified Fire Protection Specialist) is a plus
