Job Title: Fire Protection Engineer
Duration: 24 Months (with possible extension)
Location: Anaheim, California, United States
Payrate: $90/hr. to $10
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our Architectural and Facilities Engineering organization. The Fire Protection Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our diverse facility assets, ranging from public assembly spaces to high-rise hotels and themed attract
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on fire protection, life safety, and compliance with building and fire codes.
- Support capital projects and facility maintenance initiatives with fire protection engineering expertise.
- Design, review, and specify fire protection systems, including detection, sprinkler, smoke control, and egress systems.
- Conduct fire hazard assessments and risk analyses for materials, processes, and facilities.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet Resort standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform field engineering support, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of fire protection systems.
- Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and recommend improvements for fire/life safety.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- Professional Engineer License (P.E.)
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in fire protection system design or consulting
- Comprehensive knowledge of Building & Fire Codes and NFPA Standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software tools
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead project teams effectively
- Willingness to travel for project support as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in theme park, resort hotel, or mixed-use facility environments
- Familiarity with OSHA compliance regulations
- Proficiency in computer modeling tools for fire and smoke spread analysis
- Involvement in codes and standards development committees
- Knowledge of fire testing methodologies and regulatory applications
