Responsibilities

System Design and Layout:

• Develop fire sprinkler system designs using CAD software, BIM, or specialized fire protection design software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, or HydraCAD).

• Create detailed drawings and blueprints that specify piping layouts, sprinkler head placements, and system specifications based on building architecture and fire safety requirements.

Code Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure designs comply with NFPA standards (especially NFPA 13 for sprinkler systems) and local, state, and federal fire codes.

• Collaborate with engineers and architects to confirm that the fire sprinkler system meets all relevant safety regulations and performance requirements.

• Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD and Revit; experience with sprinkler-specific design software is often preferred.

• NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) certification, especially Levels II-IV in Water-Based Systems Layout, is highly desirable. Must have Level II certification in Water-Based Systems Layout at a minimum.

• Strong focus on precision and accuracy, especially in design, calculations, and code compliance.

• Ability to identify potential issues in designs and work collaboratively to resolve them.

• Effective communication skills for working with clients, engineers, and installation teams.
