Compensation: $95,000 - $110,000 base salary

Location: Buffalo, New York. This is a 100% onsite role, there is no remote or work-from-home option. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a proactive and positive safety culture by exemplifying safety behaviors and practices.
  • Regularly review and update written safety programs, conduct audits, and investigate accidents.
  • Track incident metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Handle worker's compensation incidents confidentially, addressing the needs of both employees and the company.
  • Collaborate with business partners, regulatory agencies, and employees to address safety requirements and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Communicate safety issues, trends, regulatory updates, and training materials to employees, leadership, and direct reports.
  • Oversee the development and performance management of direct reports.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in safety, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, training procedures, inspection protocols, and auditing practices.
  • Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is essential.
  • Familiarity with DOT, MSHA, and other federal regulations is preferred.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks, excellent time management, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and upholds the organization's core values.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of presenting information to senior leaders and clients.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed during shutdowns or periods of peak activity.
