Pennoni is hiring for an experienced Senior Professional to join our growing EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in New York, NY.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage EHS projects for a variety of clients (public & private-sector) within the New York metropolitan area (including Northern NJ).
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies / procedures / programs in accordance with client needs.
- Oversee risk assessments, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with PEOSH, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies; this involves managing staff as well as performing hands-on work.
- Deliver EHS training and awareness programs to clients and subcontractors.
- Investigate / identify root causes and develop / implement Corrective And Preventative Actions for clients.
- Provide leadership and guidance on EHS matters to project team members, clients, and subcontractors.
- Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
Job Requirements
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, EHS, Safety Management, or a related field of study.
- 8+ years of professional experience working with EHS-related tasks (preferably with OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) responsibilities).
This person will be expected to work both in the office and in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant credentials (e.g.: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), and/or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager)) are strongly preferred.
- Deep expertise in relevant standards & regulations (e.g.: PEOSH, OSHA, EPA, and NYC-specific EHS requirements).
- Experience conducting and overseeing on-site EHS-oriented trainings (e.g.: confined space, respirator fit testing, emergency evacuation, forklift operation, etc.).
- Experience working with field-based testing & sampling equipment.
- Experience working in construction environments.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and software, especially Microsoft Office 365 applications (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy & precision, especially while following established procedures.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, especially when managing multiple priorities & projects.
- Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to demonstrate a self-motivated demeanor while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal); public speaking experience is a plus!
