The Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Technician will support Safety, Health, and Environmental compliance efforts while nurturing a positive safety culture within the company. This position is responsible for assisting in implementing and maintaining SHE initiatives. Follow up on the safety KPIs and report to top management. The SHE Technician will provide daily health and safety guidance and always model safe working techniques. The primary work area will be in the manufacturing/shop floor environment.

Responsibilities

Tasks and Work Activities
• The development of SHE training programs and conduct training.
   o Prepare training documents in English and Spanish
   o Conduct training in English and Spanish (at various dates and times to support manufacturing teams and business needs)
   o Administer training quizzes. o Conduct re-training as needed.
   o Give safety training to each employee and visitor during the onboarding process if necessary.
• Bilingual/Biliterate EHS contact for internal safety reporting and translation of documents.
• Conducting site audits and inspections and preparing various internal reports.
  o Inspection and testing of safety equipment.
  o Coordinate the Personal Protective Equipment program.
? This includes distribution, stocking, and purchasing requests.
  o Managing environmental control and the Hazardous Waste program.
? Lead mitigation of hazardous material incidents.
  o Assist in managing, tracking, obtaining objective evidence, and closing safety-related corrective actions.
• Support TPI SHE Dept in administering and maintaining compliance programs and recordkeeping.
• Daily walkthroughs inside the operation areas to ensure that all employees and vendors are following the SHE practices.
• Give work permits to outside vendors before their duties, leading the MOC program.
• Lead the incident/ accident protocols, manage the operation teams correctly in an incident event, investigate, report the investigation results, and follow up on the mitigation actions.

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Skills
• Familiarity with a Manufacturing environment
• Must demonstrate oral, written, and reading comprehension of the English language.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must be reliable, adaptable, and open to change.
• Must be available to work overtime and open to rotating weekend shifts as assigned.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
• Knowledge of production processes and quality control methods.
• Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to wear NIOSH certified respirator.
• Ability to operate a powered industrial vehicle.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards.
• Ability to be proactive, take initiative to increase shop floor presence, self-motivated, well-organized, and resourceful.
• Basic knowledge about 5S, 14 PSM pillars

Education
• Associates or higher degree in Occupation Safety and Health preferred
• 2 to 4 years of working in a manufacturing environment preferred
• High degree of proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
