About the Job:
Reporting to the Vice President of Health, Safety Security and Environment (HSSE), the Coordinator of HSSE is responsible for aiding in overseeing the occupational health, safety, environmental and physical security performance within the organization. This includes working with management to recommend, develop, implement, and monitor all safety, environmental and security policies, and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
Location: This is an in-office role based in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities
In This Role, You Will:
- Assist in the development, performance, and maintenance of HSSE activities in assigned locations. Steward safety vision and culture within the organization.
- Assist with developing and implementing safety procedures and programs to drive results. Assist in reducing employee risk by planning and executing safety strategies. Promote a behavioral based safety environment.
- Feed data to support established key performance indicators.
- Assist in investigating all incidents to determine root causes and identify corrective actions to prevent re- occurrence.
- Contribute to the development of Safety Alerts to share with the organization based upon incident investigations. Compile reports detailing performance against targets at the divisional levels.
- Maintain accident statistics, analyze trends for the region and propose and recommend remedial action. Facilitate all incidents and near-misses to be investigated, train employees on how to prepare reports of findings, including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement an approved course of action.
- Partner collaboratively with site Safety Teams to generate progressive cultural evolution and provide support with regulatory training requirements and corrective actions during investigations of safety incidents.
- Maintain a working knowledge of HSSE-related regulatory requirements.
- Support education in alignment with an incident free culture and assume personal responsibility for safe work practices in all operations.
- Assist conducting safety, environmental awareness, and security compliance training for staff at assigned locations, and overseeing local safety, security, and environmental personnel.
- Assist in the compilation of detailed written reports on safety, environmental and security programs.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Corporate Document Management System composed of Standard Operating Procedures, policies, and training curriculums.
- Daily interaction with managers, staff, and auditors. Periodic interaction with local emergency response groups and regulatory agencies.

Required:
- Bachelor's degree in safety & health field preferred or relevant work experience equivalent to a degree.
- Minimum of two years of experience in transportation, logistics or safety management role, with minimum two years of in a logistics safety related position.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and have comprehensive oversight capabilities.
- Experience working with a national company with multi-cultural stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of business stakeholders.
- Team player who seeks continuous improvement.
- Experience with Safety Management Systems and Transportation Management Systems are a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Detail oriented to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple critical projects simultaneously and in a timely manner.
- Good analytical, reporting, researching, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 360 Suite
