Responsibilities

Job Description: We are currently seeking certified fire investigators to join our dynamic team. As a certified fire investigator at NEFCO, you will play a crucial role in conducting comprehensive investigations into fire incidents, collaborating with insurance companies and law firms to gather evidence, analyze data, and provide expert opinions on the origin and cause of fires.Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations to determine the origin, cause, and circumstances of fires.
  • Collect, preserve, and analyze evidence in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Interview witnesses, stakeholders, and other relevant parties to gather information and insights.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with insurance adjusters, attorneys, and other professionals involved in claims resolution.
  • Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings, as needed.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Certification as a fire investigator (e.g., IAAI-CFI, NAFI-CFEI) is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in fire science, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire investigation, preferably in the private sector.
  • Strong knowledge of fire dynamics, fire behavior, and forensic analysis techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
