Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Anaheim, CA. This position will support the operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with regulatory requirements. The position will be responsible for coordinating Environmental, Health, and Safety regulatory programs and their permitting applications. Support the development and coordination of related programs for the team.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000

Responsibilities

What Will You Do?

  • Advise and provide counsel on federal, state, and local activities necessary to ensure the Company maintains a safe and environmentally conscious working environment for all employees.
  • Direct activities and provide guidance to management and employees to identify, assess, plan, and control potential environmental risks and impacts.
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits and inspections to assure adherence to company, state, and regulations and recommend corrective and preventive measures when required.
  • Responsible for regulatory submission of permits including air permitting, spill prevention control and countermeasure plans, wastewater/stormwater discharge permits, storage tank regulations, Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act requirements, waste disposal regulations and environmental impact statements, and other required documents.
  • Ensure the Company’s environmental programs are appropriately upgraded and modified in order to comply with federal, various state, and/or local rules and regulations.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for management and employees regarding various environmental rules and regulations as well as Health and Safety in coordination with HR.
  • Assist businesses in meeting Corporate established Sustainability and Environmental goals.
  • Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee/supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and near misses.
  • Responsible for assisting in the identification of possible losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and auditing the plan to ensure its effectiveness.
  • Ensure that contractor personnel working on the property are in compliance with Legrand policies and safety requirements.
  • Provide advice, assist, and audit line management to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working.
  • Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies are minimized and corrected. Maintains all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with Human Resources to review accidents and incidents which occur reporting and managing corrective actions.
  • Maintain working relationships with Regulatory Agencies and co-chair the Safety Committee for the operation.
  • Conduct risk assessments on the processes and regularly conduct training needs analysis.

Job Requirements

Required Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in environmental health and safety in a manufacturing preferably sheet metal type environment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Proficient knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, nationally/state-recognized standards, and guidelines relating to specialized environmental health and safety functions as required by the position.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess a sense of urgency when performing tasks.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups to achieve desired results.
  • Assemble, arrange, compute, and interpret data. Generate reports as required.

Personal Protective Equipment Required to be worn:

  • Hearing Protection (as required).
  • Eye Protection Required (safety glasses required).
  • Protective work boots and shoes.
  • Protective clothing, i.e., uniforms (as required).

Certifications Required:

  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER preferred but not required.
  • Hazardous Waste Management Certification is preferred but not required.

Other:

  • Able to work overtime when necessary.
  • Able to work Saturdays as needed.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule (as needed).
