Responsibilities

Job Description:

The Communication Systems (CS) Segment Security Director (SSD) will oversee and coordinate security efforts across the Segment, including convergence with information technology, human resources, communications, legal, facilities management and other functional and support organizations. The SSD will develop, mentor, and guide regional company representatives to maintain a cost-effective security program to meet and exceed all customer, government and corporate policies and directives.

Essential Functions:

  • Plans and implements Segment security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Develops programs and provides guidance to minimize security risks, liabilities, losses to corporate assets, property, personnel, and foreign travel security.  Conducts evaluations on a biannual basis of each division’s security programs and posture.
  • Develops an information assurance program that includes safeguards for the protection of classified and proprietary information.
  • Advises and assists Segment, senior management representatives and security managers on security issues.
  • Interprets government security requirements and negotiates with senior U. S. Government representatives to resolve security issues.
  • Participates in Government Security advisory and working groups to influence customer policy.
  • Principal security liaison with state and federal law enforcement, intelligence, investigative and security agencies, contractors, and Segment senior staff on security matters requiring Segment involvement.
  • Coordinates and conducts investigations and inquiries concerning fraud, theft, threats, violations of security polices & procedures, ethical conduct and issues findings and recommendations.
  • Coordinates and conducts all pre- and post-merger, acquisition, and divestiture security actions for the Segment,
  • Coordinates executive protection security services for senior CS executives and high-profile visitors.
  • Assists business locations with the development and administration of crisis management and emergency response plans.
  • Develops and implements methods of inspections, audits, and analysis to ensure security industry leading performance levels and cost effectiveness.  Also monitors compliance with security corporate policies and government contractual requirements.
  • Provides guidance, risk analysis, and assistance in developing personal protection plans and approval to segment business travelers to high and extreme risk countries.
  • Acts as the Principal Management Facility (PMF) Facility Security Officer (FSO) for the CS segment.
  • Primary CS segment Security interface with Corporate Security for all Security related matters.
  • Individual must also be eligible for DOD, DOE, and other governmental agencies security clearances and accesses.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
  • Active DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Operational experience in government and/or industrial security programs as an FSO, CSSO, PSO, and COMSEC custodian or equivalent positions with a history of managing highly effective security programs.
  • Experience in working with but not limited to: ITAR, NATO, SCI, SAP, foreign government information, emergency management, policy development, and risk analysis.
  • Have access and experience with the various U. S. Government intelligence agencies, DOD and other federal, state, and local security, investigative, and law enforcement agencies.
  • Strong communications skills, written, verbal and interpersonal.
