Responsibilities
L.J Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidates for potential assignment as a Senior Safety Leader. In this role with our client, you will be responsible for the safety management throughout the Five Boroughs of New York City.
- The Senior Safety Leader supports the growing Construction and Development safety oversight program. This role will further develop, maintain, and oversee the construction safety contractor management program
- May be requested to temporarily manage and lead Business Unit Safety teams based on operational needs
- Conducts unannounced safety inspections and field assessments of projects as directed to identify hazards and noncompliance
- Works closely with construction business units' staff, contracts, legal, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Is a key stakeholder in the further development and implementation of the Safety Management Program including, among other responsibilities, monitoring and documenting metrics across Business Unit construction projects, monitoring implementation of corrective action plans, review and approve project safety related submittals
- Monitor adherence of the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP)
- Monitor project compliance to current OSHA Construction Safety requirements, Safety Specifications and procedures
- Compile weekly and/or monthly personal work activity reports
- Perform any other assigned duties based on operational needs
Job Requirements
Details:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, safety engineering, safety management, construction safety
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in construction
- Experience with construction safety contractor management programs
- OSHA-30 certification in Construction Industry Safety (29CFR 1926)
- Proficient computer skills (Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong business administrative skills (presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.)
