Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Sell and design fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA 70, NEC, IBC, FDNY regulations, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) standards.
- Prepare and submit new fire alarm system applications to FDNY and AHJ, coordinating with an approved expediter to ensure all procedural requirements are met.
- Engineer fire alarm systems, including the development of wire and device riser diagrams.
- Maintain familiarity with all relevant NYC forms, including B-45, A433, and TM-1.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure fire alarm designs comply with code requirements and project specifications.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in fire alarm system design and engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 and NYC Fire Codes.
- Established client base with an estimated 100+ customers.
- Strong professional relationships with engineers, architects, and electricians.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for project tracking and documentation.
- Proficient in CAD software for fire alarm system design.
- Strong understanding of FDNY and AHJ submission processes for new and altered fire alarm applications.
- Experience with fire alarm products such as Edwards, Kidde, Vigilant, and Notifier.
