  • BS degree plus an additional 7-year full time experience in a Health & Safety position; or a minimum of 10 years full time professional experience in a Health & Safety position in lieu of the degree.
  • Ability in managing and conducting safety investigations, presentations, and develop root-cause analysis.
  • Proficient in the use of eBuilder, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Your impactThe candidate will help us empower communities to focus on what matters most – people. Jacobs is seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) Professional to be a part of our New York City Water Market Construction Management Team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the health and safety programs and provide oversight for site safety conditions. Previous NYC DEP experience is a plus.

Job Requirements

Your Health and Safety Candidate should possess at a minimum the following professional requirements

  • 7-10 years of professional safety experience in the Construction Standard.
  • Possess a CSP, CHST or NYC LSSM’s License.
  • A broad understanding of rules and regulations of entities Governing Construction Related Activities.
  • OSHA 500 designation in 29 CFR 1926 of the Construction Standard
  • Ensure an overall improving trend for key project safety metrics including TRR, DART, training completion, etc.
  • Must have technical knowledge for the developing and maintaining Dashboards.
  • Communicate gaps in the project Health & Safety programs of contractors.
  • Have specific knowledge of specialty areas (OSHA 1910 & NEC, NFPA 70E, ANSI, NIOSH, NYC DOB Chapter 33, Chapter 14 of the FDNY etc.) and perform regular site walks to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Work under very general direction and independently.
  • Work closely with Jacobs’s site management and clients to identify H&S discrepancies.
  • Identify and recommend resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions and follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
  • The ability to investigate and develop root-cause analysis for Jacobs personal injury and property damage accidents; compile data, photographs, etc. and prepare all pertinent reports per program contractual requirements as mandated by and federal, state, local regulations associated with accidents.
