Responsibilities
The Armed Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, conducting regular patrols of assigned properties, monitoring entrances and exits, and ensuring compliance with site procedures. Daily tasks include observing and reporting suspicious activity, responding to alarms and incidents, de-escalating conflicts where possible, and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services when needed. The officer will check identification as required, document all incidents and activities in detailed reports, and communicate effectively with supervisors and clients. The role also involves maintaining weapons and equipment in safe working order, following all company and legal safety protocols, and representing IronRock Security with professionalism and courtesy at all times.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security, law enforcement, or military service, with a strong understanding of safety and security procedures.
- Valid armed security officer license and applicable state firearm permits; clean criminal background and ability to pass drug screening.
- Strong observation, situational awareness, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accurate incident documentation.
- Ability to de-escalate situations, interact professionally with the public, and communicate clearly with clients, colleagues, and law enforcement.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, respond quickly in emergencies, and work various shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to following post orders, company policies, and legal guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications are a plus.
- Comfort working in diverse environments such as schools, residential properties, construction sites, retail locations, and events.
