Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Design and Review
- Collaborate with team members to complete fire protection and safety tasks, including:
- Drafting code reports on building fire safety and compliance.
- Reviewing architectural and engineering plans for code compliance.
- Developing life safety and egress plans in software like AutoCAD and Revit.
- Conducting on-site inspections to assess fire protection and life safety features.
- Performing inspections and testing of fire alarm systems.
- Complete deliverables on schedule and seek feedback to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Participate in internal initiatives as requested to support team objectives.
- Set professional goals with a manager to build technical and project skills.
Project Support
- Manage assigned tasks and communicate proactively if issues arise.
- Assist in preparing technical content, such as blog posts and presentations.
- Support project management tasks, including templates, project creation, and budget assistance.
- Aid in updating project schedules and tracking project phases as directed by the PM.
Client Interaction
- Set development goals to enhance client communication and relationship skills with guidance from project leaders.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., mechanical, electrical, fire protection) or related field; Fire Protection Engineering (FPE) degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in fire protection, code consulting, or a similar field.
- Strong work ethic, leadership potential, and ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to changes.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
- Interest in pursuing the FE exam and Professional Licensure encouraged.
