In this role, you will design, develop, and oversee the installation of fire suppression systems to ensure the safety and protection of life and property. This is a full-time, in-office position where you will work closely with project teams to deliver high-quality designs and collaborate with contractors for proper system installation and operation.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design life safety and asset protection systems using AutoCAD and proprietary software, ensuring compliance with local, national, and manufacturer standards.
- Direct contractors during system installation and ensure proper operation according to design specifications.
- Conduct on-site surveys to ensure accurate system design and successful installation.
- Review and interpret project specifications provided by customers to implement them effectively.
- Attend manufacturer training sessions and other professional development opportunities to stay current with industry standards.
- Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals to support system functionality.
- Update and maintain existing drawings for system improvements or modifications.
- Adhere to company and customer safety policies throughout the design and installation process.
- Assist office staff with engineering-related tasks, including process improvements and system documentation.
- Provide support in system inspections, maintenance, startups, and commissioning when necessary.
Job Requirements
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting and familiarity with 3D design software.
- Solid understanding of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Eagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations.
- Willingness to study for and obtain NICET certification.
- Self-motivated with a desire for continuous improvement in processes and design methods.
