Responsibilities
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary takeoff by drawing number.
- Determine contract Sequence of Operations (SOO) to comply with contract specifications, plans, and current fire codes.
- Perform system calculations according to manufacturer's specifications.
- Review equipment application, research outside purchases, and ensure equipment compatibility.
- Generate Panel and Shop drawings.
- Assemble and submit Submittal Package including detailed descriptions of system operations and drawings and follow up to ensure approval.
- Implement the support activity associated with the submittal process, engineering, CAD operations, installation schematics, equipment delivery, outside purchasing, and scheduling as required.
- Develop and manage project time schedule by maintaining smooth working relationships with contractors, clients, architects, 3rd party vendors, and engineers.
- Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with clients, peers, and management.
- Maintain positive client relations through professional interactions with clients.
Job Requirements
Required Education And Experience
Two-year technical degree required; BS in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering preferred
Skills And Knowledge
- Ability to execute the Department of Engineering SOP as written and implied
- Ability to value-engineer all project specifications with the aim of client satisfaction and project profitability
- Knowledge of electronic circuits and application, and of all basic electrical theories
- Knowledgeable on the use of AutoCAD to draft plans and diagrams
- Full knowledge of EST fire alarm products
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and other relevant applications
- Ability to work on multiple projects in different phases simultaneously
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Good problem-solving/decision-making, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Good listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Good time management skills
- Ability to effectively demonstrate and integrate the HRF client service model when working with clients.
