As a Security Officer, you’d be part of a well-trained, cohesive team that provides 24/7 protection for co-workers and guests at our buildings and at special events. Your mission? To protect Disney property and safeguard our people! This position is for multiple full time openings with a variety of shift start/end times and may include days, nights, 3rd shift, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
What You Will Do
- Greet visitors, check company IDs, and provide temporary IDs at building entrances.
- Evaluate and screen the audience line at live TV shows.
- Be a security presence at movie premiers or private parties.
- Patrol hallways and building perimeters to spot safety issues or irregularities.
- Fill out the logbook accurately and completely.
- Answer questions asked by visitors and employees in a friendly, professional way.
- Use your know-how and training to diffuse a tense situation.
- Respond to medical or fire incidents, and work directly with local first responders.
- Assist private security details brought by celebrities, sports stars, politicians and visiting dignitaries – even the President has been known to stop by!
- Control messenger flow and package delivery.
- Apply technology to report and document incidents and handle information flow.
- Perform walk-through evaluation at off-site events.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 1 year of corporate security, law enforcement or military experience.
- Excellent communication skills, including proficient written and spoken English, and strong command of basic English grammar.
- Ability to make quick decisions using your training and common sense.
- The curiosity about talking to people in a friendly way that gets results.
- A “team” orientation and willingness to collaborate.
- Physical ability to cover all aspects of the job and be outside in all weather; and
- Flexible workdays/hours (this is a “shift work” role) and ability to work some overtime:
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Security Guard license issued by your state.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working under pressure.
- Ability to take command and respectfully control difficult situations
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Associate degree or higher or equivalent experience preferred
