Position Overview: The Project Manager/Estimator will be responsible for managing fire protection projects from inception to completion and preparing detailed cost estimates for fire alarm and sprinkler systems. This role requires a highly organized individual with strong project management and estimating skills, as well as a thorough understanding of fire protection systems and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of fire protection projects, including planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for fire alarm and sprinkler system installations and upgrades.
  • Prepare project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Perform site visits to assess project scope and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
  • Review and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical plans.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct regular project meetings and provide updates to clients and senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks and issues.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and estimating, preferably in the fire protection industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm and sprinkler systems, as well as NFPA codes and standards.
  • Proficient in estimating software and project management tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems and/or Water-Based Systems Layout is a plus.
