As a Fire Tech II with the City of New York, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of fire protection systems and equipment throughout NYC's municipal buildings and facilities. This role requires technical expertise and the ability to work independently on complex fire alarm systems.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evenings as needed
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Weekends as needed

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on various fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems
  • Conduct regular testing and inspections of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with FDNY regulations, NYC Building Code, and NFPA standards
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical documentation
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and system tests in accordance with department protocols
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, parts usage, and equipment maintenance schedules

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in fire alarm systems maintenance and repair
  • NYC Fire Department Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems (S-98) Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems Inspection, Testing and Service Technician (S-98) | City of New York
  • OSHA 30 (Siemens will pay for the training if they don’t have it)
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and NYC Fire Code
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
