Fire Protection Engineers – Entry/Early Professionals

We are seeking an entry level Fire Protection Engineering Professional to join our growing design team in any of the following Pond offices:

Atlanta, GA – Headquarters; Atlanta, GA – Cobb; Atlanta, GA – Downtown; Charlotte, NC.

Candidate should have 0-2 years of experience. This could include related mechanical/fire protection engineering experience (internship and professional experience included) or related education or experience but is not a requirement. The successful candidate would be mentored by our dynamic team of engineering professionals while supporting a range of multidisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities will focus on design and production of fire protection engineering project construction documents or reports under the general supervision of Senior Engineers.

Additional Information:

Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position with a salary range of $62,900.00 - $81,400.00.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works independently with minimal supervision; is self-motivated and has initiative.
  • Performs assigned tasks in accordance with company QC procedures.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Knowledge of design software such as Revit or AutoCad is ideal but can be trained upon hiring.

Job Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, related degree, or relevant experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience (internship and professional experience included).

Software/Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet Apps.
  • Revit/AutoCAD/BIM preferred.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position required the individual to use the computer working at a desk in either an office or cubicle; must be able to talk and hear, reach with hands and arms, lift up to 10 pounds, stand, sit and walk, must have close and color vision, use depth and peripheral vision, be able to adjust focus.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional attendance at meetings and other off-site events requires the ability to provide reliable transportation. Position may require occasional travel to domestic locations. Must maintain a current, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
