ERM is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Site Consultant, embedded at a client location in Rochester, NY with travel to Madison, WI approximately 1 week a month.   In this role, you will work onsite with a client to support environmental compliance, management systems and safety.  This is an excellent career opportunity to work with an expert consulting team on challenging environmental, health and safety projects for a key client.  This is a full-time, 40 hour a week, limited-term consulting role with a 9 month extendable term.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, sustainability, site investigation, and due diligence transaction projects.
  • Perform EHS compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Train staff on health and safety plans.
  • Support the development of EHS compliance and management system programs.
  • Provide general EHS compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.
  • Conduct environmental field work, including groundwater, soil, sediment, and surface water sampling and ecological field studies.
  • Conduct inspections to verify EHS compliance at customer sites
  • Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to effectively manage projects.

Job Requirements

  • BS in occupational health and safety, environmental sciences, or related discipline is highly preferred.  Masters a plus; Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ of environmental operational compliance and management system issues is required
  • Specific knowledge around environmental impacts from fermentation and refrigeration are preferred.
  • ASP, CSP, CHMM certifications or similar is desirable.
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Local candidates preferred.
