As a Safety Director you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves working closely with telecom construction teams, management, and regulatory bodies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees

Responsibilities

What you’ll do as a Safety Director

  • Design, implement, and continually improve comprehensive safety programs
  • Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations
  • Stay informed about local, state, and federal safety regulations applicable to the telecom and construction industry
  • Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant safety standards and legislation
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization
  • Ensures an adequate competence management and training system for safety-related competencies
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, and training
  • Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory agencies as required

Job Requirements

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Ability to travel 25% or when needed
  • Proven experience in the telecom construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction safety requirements
  • Ability to form, lead, motivate, mentor, manage and direct a strong and effective team, with the ability to influence and drive a culture of safety and sustainability. Manage time and work schedules
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, including executive management, as well as the ability to engage field employees. Position also requires strong business skills including team building, leading, and influencing, and resilience and adaptability
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with significant experience with safety software’s, data analytic tools, paired with focus on IT innovations. Developing metrics to measure improvement of program expectations
  • Professional certifications in safety are advantageous. CPR, OSHA 30, OSHA 500, OSHA 510

  • In-depth knowledge of safety management systems and best practices
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
