Bosch Building Technologies Integrator Business

The regional system integration business called Bosch Building Technologies offers solutions and customized services for building security, energy efficiency, and building automation for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects Bosch started its Integrator Business in North America through the acquisition of Climatec in 2015. Climatec expanded Bosch’s role as a comprehensive supplier of energy, building automation and security solutions. Climatec is recognized in the building industry as an independent single-source integrator of critical building systems including energy services, building automation and security & life safety in the U.S. market. The company provides consulting, planning, implementation and 24/7 remote management. Climatec is active in several market segments and industries including data centers, commercial real estate buildings, and federal, state, and local government. Job Summary: The Systems Designer III leads the design and engineering of fire alarm and life safety systems, producing accurate AutoCAD drawings, submittals, bills of material, and technical solutions aligned with project scope, codes, and budgets. This role partners closely with sales, operations, and external stakeholders to optimize system design, forecast engineering labor, resolve design issues through RFIs, and support project execution from preconstruction through commissioning.

  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated.  Noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Will be required to be on site with customers or contractors, with or without Paladin colleagues to manage the expectations and deliverables. Sites range from general office environments to new construction.
  • Driving to customer sites is required
  • Limited overnight travel may be required

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Produce Fire Alarm drawings in accordance with the scope of work and budget as defined by contract documents and sales estimate ensuring equipment compatibility.
  • Provide AutoCAD labor and direction as required to complete submittals and other engineered drawings accurately and professionally.
  • Interpret project documents, estimate, and other information as available to select the proper equipment to achieve the scope of work required in the most economical and functional manner.
  • Accurately forecast necessary labor required to engineer a complete project and track this over time to achieve budget and forecast goals.
  • Recommend technical solutions to sales and operations. Constantly research outside purchase products.
  • Communicate with internal employees as required to ensure engineering is accurate and timely.
  • Provide input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, value engineering, design, installation, start up, commissioning, and training for building systems.
  • Communicate with external organizations as required such as consulting engineers, building owners, and other contractors to ensure accurate and timely engineering.
    • Provide support for ongoing service engineering and support for existing building systems.
    • Complete Bill of Material for every project.
    • Suggest/recommend new products that provide better functionality and value to projects.
    • Generate Request for Information (RFIs) to clarify design issues and recommend appropriate solutions as necessary.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of high school diploma.
  • Two year technical degree in drafting or Electronics related studies preferred.  
  • Other technical experience such as military, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management.
  • NICET Certification
  • Experience and expertise including but not limited to:
  • An understanding of basic computer systems including MS Office Suite of products, including AutoCAD.
  • The ability to configure and debug basic computer problems.
  • NFPA knowledge required.
  • Ability to conduct field surveys for projects.
  • International Fire Code knowledge required.
  • Coordinate Fire Alarm design with existing structure and other MEP contractors.
  • Communicate with sales and other departments to optimize design efficiency for fabrication and installation of systems.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise of computer systems including MS Office Suite of products, including AutoCAD.
  • 5+ years of experience configuring and debugging computer problems.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting field surveys for projects.
  • NICET IV certification
  • Familiarity with Honeywell’s Notifier.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment
  • Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)
