Summary/Objective:

The Fire Alarm Manager is responsible for the overall administration, organization and implementation of fire alarm systems on construction/service/inspection projects as well as supervising and mentoring less experienced personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for evaluating customer's requirements
  • Set customer expectation vis-a-vis program scope and contractual obligations
  • Formalize program expansion and modification requirements based on the customer's needs
  • Provides each customer with program status, progress and service level reports
  • Helps communicate problems and their resolution between the customer and technical staff
  • Serves as the central point of escalation for all program-level issues
  • Program plan of actions based on the contractual and operational requirements
  • Identify and resolve any scheduling, materials, budget or personnel conflicts
  • Supervise preventative and corrective maintenance of the system, additional systems installation, performance enhancement and moves, ads and configuration changes
  • Maintain the staffing plan in accordance with the program direction and the contractual obligations
  • Supervises all procurement, shipping, receiving, and other logistical functions and processes
  • Ultimately responsible for materials inventory; to identify and escalate any potential materials, staffing and/or budgetary issues.

Job Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of fire alarm experience in a supervisory role and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience in a construction environment
  • Progressive responsibility working with Fire Alarm Systems projects
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the Fire Alarm industry
  • Experience with technical writing and proposals, creating and managing budgets, estimates and schedules
  • Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA Requirements, and Industry Standards for Fire Alarm systems installation.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, estimating, and the coordination of manpower and resources
  • Experience with a variety of system manufacturers including Notifier, Siemens, EST, Gamewell, Honeywell, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to create and revise complex Excel spreadsheets, tables, charts and graphs
  • Must be proficient and organized multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment without easily getting frustrated
  • Ability to interact and have positive working relationships with all levels of the organization, and external customers
  • Must be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
  • Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned, to include working varying schedules

  • Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
  • Position may require visits to construction site

Physical Demands:

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines

Travel:

  • May require travel

Preferred:

  • AA Degree in General Business or a related discipline
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience in Viewpoint and/or MJOB
  • NICET III certification in Fire Alarm Systems
  • Prior military experience
