Position Title

Regional Process Safety Director – CPET Business

Location

Some flexibility but the position must be near one of the client’s facilities.

Description

The role will work with CPET sites to execute the process safety strategy for the CPET business within the specified region.

Reporting To

CPET Global EHS Director, Dotted to Global Process Safety Program Director for strategic direction, Dotted to Regional Chief Technical Officer.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

· Work with regional manufacturing leader, site heads, and site Process Safety Management (PSM) resources to drive execution of strategy regarding all elements of Process Safety Management.

· Work with site heads and site PSM resources to drive strategy for PSM performance improvement.

· Develop, implement, and maintain process safety policies and procedures that align with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

· Monitor new Process Safety regulations within the Region that could impact the PSM strategy.

· Meet regularly with site Process Safety personnel to understand the site’s progress in implementing the PSM strategy and self-assessments.

· Provide guidance and assistance to site personnel for conducting process hazard analysis (PHA), layers of protection analysis (LOPA), and other process safety studies.

· Provide PSM expertise to sites.

· Monitor and analyze process safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

· Regional PSM data collection, information requests and sharing of information.

· Prepare and present process safety reports to senior management.

· Partner with Corporate Process Safety Program Director in scheduling process safety audits within the region and to identify auditors from within the business that can serve as auditors for other businesses. Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) auditor when possible.

· Partner with Corporate Process Safety Program Director in the development and rolling out of software updates and new software tools.

· Understand PSM Talent regionally within the business. Work with site leaders to understand talent strengths and vulnerabilities and make recommendations to shore up vulnerabilities. Develop talent in harmony with corporate programs. Provide information to corporate EHS as requested.

Job Requirements

Desired Experience, Capabilities and Skills

· 10+ years of Experience in process safety management

· Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) Certification

· Experience deploying corporate programs Regionally/Globally

· International experience

  • Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of process safety regulations and standards
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels.
  • Able to employ key programs and metrics into the operation seamlessly for success.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal
  • Strong executive presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationships up, down and across the organization
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside of company (customers and regulatory agencies)
  • High energy, self-starter
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong time management skills

· Proficient with English (oral and written)

Education

Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, safety engineering or other related field.

Travel

Approximately 15-20% domestic and international
