Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced Fire Alarm Technicians to join our team in Buffalo, NY. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and testing of fire alarm systems. You will also troubleshoot, repair deficiencies and issues that are needed.
Responsibilities
- Install, Service, Program and Test Fire Alarm Systems
- Knowledge of different types of panels and how to access systems for testing or service.
- Troubleshooting issues on panel to determine which part of the fire alarm system is in need of repair and implement corrective action.
- Ability to read and use a multi meter properly
- Proper customer service and communication with internal and external customers
- Keep up with NICET Certifications. Continuing Education Credit Opportunities Provided.
- Cover on-call hours for servicing customers, including nights and weekends on a rotating basis
- Proper submission of electronic work orders, time sheets, safety assessments, job status communications on regular recurring basis
- Must be able to work solo, and with others as the job requires.
- Other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least 3 years previous experience
- Microsoft Office programs
- Familiarity with Autocall/Simplex, Siemens systems, EST, etc.
- Experience in Security, IP Cameras, Access Control, and/or Nurse Call Systems beneficial
- On-site Construction experience required.
- Occasional multi-day Travel Required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license
- NICET certification or equivalent
- OSHA 10 or 30 Preferred
- Current fire alarm manufacturer certifications beneficial
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Job Foreman Competencies preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Depending on the customer site, noise level could be quiet (as in a library or public office) or moderate (as in a business office with computers and light traffic)
- Ability to withstand heights, climb ladders, and perform work off lifts comfortably
- Working environment to include but not limited to retail locations, small to large office buildings, heavy industrial plants, indoors and outdoors.
