AECOM is seeking Safety, Health & Environment Manager to be based in New York, NY. The Senior Safety Program Manager, will be overseeing the Safety personnel for the Design Builder and CM, along with developing SOPs, reviewing safety plans, developing processes as procedures and visiting the sites.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Partners in the development and administration of the company's safety, accident prevention, and environmental policies and programs for the home office and field operations.
- Establishes a thorough knowledge of the Company and its organizational structure and philosophy, as well as a thorough knowledge of the manufacturing, engineering and construction industries.
- Displays the proven capability to work with department heads, subsidiaries and field operations to resolve safety and environmental issues; to advise executive and middle management on professionally related issues; and to manage people through excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Assists in the supervision of all Department safety, accident prevention, and environmental activities and in the selection and supervision of project safety, environmental and medical personnel.
- Plans and conducts training for project safety, environmental and medical personnel in the areas of policy, procedures, inspection, documentation, training and accident investigation.
- Represents the Company on technical and professional committees and assists in local, State, Federal and industrial code formulation.
- Under the direction of the Sr. Director, supervises ES&H staff.
- Develops and implements comprehensive risk assessment strategies to identify and mitigate potential safety and environmental hazards across all company operations.
- Leads incident investigations, root cause analyses, and develops corrective action plans to prevent recurrence of safety or environmental incidents.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, staying current with changes in legislation and industry standards.
- Collaborates with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety and environmental considerations into project planning and execution phases.
- Develops and maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety and environmental performance, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Fosters a culture of safety and environmental responsibility through ongoing communication, recognition programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
- BA/BS plus 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership
Preferred Requirements :
- A bachelor’s degree in the field of Safety or Engineering
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Health and Safety Course (30-hour Preferable)
