Responsibilities
Fire Protection Mechanics inspect, repair and maintain fire safety equipment and systems in accordance with applicable fire codes.
Typical services they perform include conducting safety inspections and planning fire protection systems. In the course of their job, fire safety technicians recognize fire hazards, apply technical knowledge, and perform services to control and prevent fires.
Job Requirements
Must have a competent understanding of sprinkler installation shop drawings. Must be familiar with and be able to reference NFPA-13, NFPA-14, and the NYC fire codes.
