Position Overview
The client is seeking a motivated Service Technician to install, program, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide range of low-voltage electronic security systems. This position involves working with commercial and residential security solutions, including fire alarm systems, IP CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and network camera systems. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, customer-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality service while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair low-voltage electronic security systems.
- Install and service commercial and residential security systems, fire alarms, access control, CCTV, panic alarms, and hold-up systems.
- Install and troubleshoot IP network camera systems utilizing PoE cabling.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Program and configure control panels and electronic security equipment.
- Troubleshoot wiring, networking, and system performance issues.
- Ensure all installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and work reports.
- Travel occasionally for out-of-town projects, including overnight stays when required.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of basic wiring and electronic principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and low-voltage wiring systems.
- Experience with fire alarm, burglar alarm, CCTV, and access control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Understanding of control panel programming.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Must successfully pass background and drug screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of field service experience.
- Experience with computer networking and IP-based security systems.
- NICET Certification preferred.
- Experience with PoE network camera systems.
