Job Description
Join the Vulcan Fire team of life safety experts and help us grow!Vulcan Fire accepts applications for our Meridian, Idaho office. Positions in our company work assigned hours, Monday through Friday, with rotations in our on-call schedule. No remote work or relocation available.
Position Summary
Ideal candidates will have solid experience in fire alarm service, NICET II or above, and backflow certification preferred. Strong technical skills alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a desire to complete assignments, and a capacity for continual learning. A full-time performance-based position requiring the ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production goals in a fast-paced, low-voltage company. Plenty of opportunities to grow into a senior position.

Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities
- Understands and carries out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Read and interpret documents such as work orders and procedure manuals.
- Communicates effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Uses hand tools and small power tools.
- Assists senior technicians with inspecting and testing alarm systems and extinguishers per NFPA.
- Practices good housekeeping on job sites.
- Performs basic mathematical calculations.
- Repeatedly lifts and carries equipment and tools (up to 80lbs)
- Lifts ladder(s) (maximum height of 28 ft. and maximum weight of 80 lbs.).
- Participates in weekly safety trainings.
- Uses personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Learns all phases of construction, building codes, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 72.
- Wears assigned uniform clothing and dresses professionally as indicated in the employee handbook.
- Maintains a good working environment/relationship with all vendors, customers and AHJs Confidently uses time management program through laptop and/or texting systems.
- Uses cell phone to text Central Station to take systems on & off line, and check signals.
- Reads and interprets prints and drawings.
- Inspects and tests alarm systems and extinguishers per NFPA 72 & 10.
- Uses Honeywell CLSS reports software.
- Accurately processes technician paperwork and parts for stock transfers to vehicles and jobs.
- Fleet vehicle is kept clean, organized, and stocked.
- Fleet vehicle is taken in for preventative and operational maintenance as directed and notifies supervisor immediately regarding operational issues.
- Follows Company Vehicle Policy.
- Maintains safe driving habits.
- Prepares accurate, legible, and timely work orders and reports.
- Uses office equipment, cell phone, and computer.

- NICET II Certification (preferred)
- Denver Fire Alarm Installer (preferred)
- Backflow Certification (preferred)
- Various other licenses a bonus
- Pass a 10-panel drug test
- Pass a criminal background check
