Responsibilities

Candidate will be responsible for reviewing Fire Protection including Fire Alarm, Plumbing design documents for public transportation facilities for compliance with applicable construction codes and technical standards.
Analyzing and reviewing drawings, specifications, reports, and studies for compliance with codes and standards Coordinate the review comments from other technical disciplines and preparing memoranda for transmitting comments Attend meetings with design consultants to discuss the review comments and resolving issues

Job Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering is required; Professional Engineer Registration in NY is preferred NICET II Certification for Fire Alarm Systems is preferred NICET II Certification for Fire Protection Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems is preferred Demonstrated working knowledge of Building Codes and their reference standards in New York City, and New York State Proper understanding of engineering disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems Experience (10 years) with fire protection/fire alarm and plumbing system design engineering Proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel and Outlook Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written Demonstrated ability to work independently in a decision-making capacity.
