Fire Alarm - Lead Service / Inspection Technician (Experienced)

Unifour Fire & Safety, a Southeastern leader in full-service fire protection inspections and repairs, has an immediate opening for an experienced Fire Alarm Lead Service / Inspection Technician in the Greater Charlotte / Hickory, NC area. The primary function of the position is to Inspect, service, troubleshoot and repair commercial fire alarm, CCTV, and Card Access systems. Works with minimal supervision and may provide training and assistance to less senior installers and trainees.

Responsibilities

Job Skills & Duties

  • Inspect Service Troubleshoot and Repair Various Fire Alarm Systems
  • Performs system testing and signal verification
  • Monitors and ensures the progress and completion of assigned tasks
  • Provides reliable, high quality customer support
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors/customers
  • Performs customer instruction on system operation and functionality
  • Maintains necessary truck stock, equipment and tools
  • Able to work unsupervised and highly self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Must complete other projects as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-year experience
  • Strong knowledge commercial intrusion systems, fire systems, CCTV, intercom and Access Control Systems
  • Must have working knowledge of local/national codes & NFPA 72 inspection reports
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Must pass a drug screen & background check
  • Strong work ethic, professional attitude, honest & hard working
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable with heights, working on ladders or lifts, or in confined spaces.
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and outdoor settings, which can potentially expose employees to noise, dust, heat stress, thermal stress, low light conditions, heights, etc.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed, which would require use of fall protection equipment and other safety devices
  • Capable of using hand and power tools, including specialty tools resulting in cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening and other methods resulting in torque, vibration, noise, etc.
