Responsibilities
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
As the Fire Sprinkler Services – Mechanic, you will report directly to the Fire Sprinkler Services - Service Supervisor, and be directly responsible for the following:

- Understand Total Fire Protection’s strategy, business, and growth initiatives.
- Perform Monthly Visual Inspections, Quarterly Testing, Semi Annual & Annual Flow Testing of Sprinkler Systems as per NFPA 25
- Respond to and address Fire Sprinkler Service calls as required for testing and inspection per NFPA 25 standards
- Complete Work Orders and corresponding services in a timely and efficient manner, per Company Customer service delivery standards
- Identify and report sprinkler system deficiencies to the Service Supervisor as a means of identifying revenue opportunities for the Company, while performing corresponding Sprinkler Services in customer locations
- Knowledge and experience in performing Annual Fire Pump Testing along with Monthly/Weekly Churn Testing.
- Perform 5-Year Hydro-static Testing on the FD Connections (Both Sprinkler and Standpipe) and experience in working with FDNY to witness testing.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
- Pre-Action System testing, inspection, and maintenance experience preferred
- Must act as the contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems and residential applications, some which may include:
- Wet (steel, copper and CPVC)
- Dry
- Pre-Action
- Deluge
- Fire Pumps
- Other related duties as assigned by the management team for similar Life Safety Products and Services
Job Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
- Be 18 years old or older
- Possess your GED, High School diploma or equivalent
- Be eligible to work in the United States
- Minimum of 2-year experience in the testing, inspection, and maintenance of fire sprinklers or related equipment.
- Possess a current, valid, and clean state driver’s license
- Ability to uphold Company Vehicle Safety policies, with a proved clean and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Back-flow Certification is preferred and must possess S12, S13, and S14 Certification or ability to obtain required certification
- NICET Level II/NICET Level III Certification in Water Based Systems is preferred.
- Be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs for extended period and lift at least thirty (30) lbs.
- flexible hours including weekends when required, in order to respond to Emergency Service Calls
- Able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule
- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of customer service
- Must process strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment & tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work with ladders, scaffolding & high-lift equipment up to 40-ft, to work within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
