What to Expect
Gigafactory Texas is currently accepting applications for Fire & EMS Technicians. Become part of an all-hazards risk team. During the assigned shift, the Fire & EMS Technician is responsible for responding to medical, fire, technical rescue, and hazardous material related emergencies. The Fire & EMS Technician will support the site day-to-day operations with employee engagement and training. The Fire & EMS Technician will promote continuous improvement of overall Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) processes and systems.
Shifts available: Night Shift 6:30PM – 6:30AM (10% pay differential)
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Respond to emergencies consistent with fire suppression for a 2,500-acre campus, over 11 million sqft of manufacturing space, a cathode facility, crash test area, wildland space, and growing
- Respond to confined space, trench, rescue, high-angle rescue, and entrapments. Respond to hazardous material incidents to contain and mitigate life and environmental hazards
- Provide basic/advanced life support during medical emergencies associate with trauma, chemical exposure, or medical emergencies
- Collaborate with On Site Medical (OSM) team to ensure the best possible patient care and outcome. Support stakeholders with emergency action plans, emergency drills, and emergency communication
- Provides detailed verbal, written, and computer reports pertaining to condition and care of patients. Organize, file, and maintain safety documentation (e.g., one note records, pass down logs,); Ensure all support documentation is collected for event reports
- Maintain a strong presence throughout the site engaging with shop stakeholders and production associates while fostering a robust safety culture. Support EHS Specialists with safety concerns and assist with coordination of safety supplies (first aid kits, eyewash stations, etc.)
- Safely and efficiently operates emergency response and powered industrial vehicles. Perform confined space inventory, classification, and incident pre-planning. Support facility operations to minimize loss of production time
Job Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Required - Firefighter 1 and 2 (IFSAC/Pro Board or TCFP), current National Registry Paramedic or TDSHS Paramedic, HazMat Awareness/Operations (HazMat Technician Preferred), FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 Certifications
- Valid driver's license required to be able to operate assigned fleet
- Rope Rescue/Confined Space Rescue Certifications Preferred
- Fire Instructor 1 Preferred, OSHA 10 Certification - Completion required within 6 months of hire
- Ability to rapidly respond to employee health emergencies, discern audible alarms and activate emergency procedures

- Evidence of exceptional ability: Clear communication, teamwork, problem solving skills, and ability to adapt quickly
Essential Physical Demands:
- Must be comfortable in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift over 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand/walk for +10hrs daily
- Must be comfortable working with hazardous chemicals
- Must be able to pass respiratory requirements and operate in a SCBA mask for extended periods of time Must complete medical baseline assessment and have the ability to complete physically strenuous tasks associated with fire suppression, for extended periods of time
