Job Title: Fire Protection / Alarm Tech
Shift: M – F 700am – 330pm
Comp: $25 – 46 per hour.

Job Summary:
Perform fire protection system inspection, testing, and service call activity. Needs include fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, etc. Knowledge of NFPA 72 and NFPA 92 standards and procedures are required. The Fire Protection Technician will work as a part of fire life and safety team on a larger Facility Maintenance team. Abilities to complete work on time, work as part of a team, communicate with manager, and follow-up with customer are critical
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform service, testing, inspections, troubleshooting and installations on facility fire safety systems with a focus or expertise on fire extinguishers
· Test and inspect facility fire safety systems as part of preventive maintenance program
· Assist in testing, maintaining, and performing light repairs on the fire protection system
· Learn the fire protection control system to provide service calls as needed.
· Complete all work orders and reports thoroughly and on time
· Interact with customers in professional manner; follow-up communication with customer is critical
· Perform/participate in “after-hours” emergency call rotation
· Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required, vocational or industry trade school is a plus.
· Must have NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification Level II.
· Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 92, NFPA 25, and NFPA 20, NFPA 72, and NFPA 291
· Backflow certification preferred
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs on a regular basis
· Basic mechanical skills are required
· Valid Driver’s License required
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
