Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include the planning and preparation of Plumbing and Fire Protection designs, calculations, reports, equipment selection and specification writing for building and facilities projects. Additional responsibilities will include leading projects, collaborating with other engineers, meeting with clients to discuss project matters and making recommendations, when necessary, based on the clients' needs.
Job Requirements
Required Experience:
- Successful candidate will have relevant experience at a minimum as an intern designing plumbing and fire protection systems for facilities such as commercial, industrial, municipal, educational, laboratory, residential, institutional and governmental.
- The experience should include systems associated with Plumbing and Fire Protection as indicated under required skills.
- The candidate should be familiar with the survey and recording of existing systems.
- Focused experience with industrial projects, Federal and state agency projects, and/or local municipal projects is a plus.
Required Skills:
- Candidate will have an Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or credential such as CPD (Certified in plumbing design).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience (including internships).
- EIT is preferred for this role.
- Candidate should have good planning, organizational and communications skills.
- The candidate should be familiar with the design of domestic water, drainage, compressed air, vacuum, and natural gas systems.
- Candidate shall have an understanding of fire protection design, NFPA and Building Codes.
- The ideal candidate will be familiar with AutoCAD and REVIT.
- A candidate with experience in using MicroStation and Bentley 3D is a plus. LEED AP, CPD, or NICET certifications are also a plus.
