Responsibilities
Major Duties & Responsibilities
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading the Company's operating units in developing, implementing, and overseeing environment, health, and safety programs and policies. They use their expertise to address complex EHS issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to plant personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory programs.
- Oversee Health & Safety programs and initiatives for the fleet.
- Manage EHS audit and peer safety review processes.
- Assist in developing and implementing corporate policies and controls.
- Manage and provide oversight of environmental programs.
- Participate in permit application preparation and renewal.
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements and lead teams to address compliance needs.
- Support professional development of Corporate and Plant EHS personnel.
- Contribute to due diligence efforts related to M&A activities.
- Assist as Business Administrator for the Benchmark Gensuite EHS compliance system.
Job Requirements
Education/Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least ten years of experience in the EHS field with over five years in management roles.
- Knowledge and experience with Clean Air Act programs and air permit compliance.
- General knowledge of other environmental disciplines and health and safety regulations.
- Strong background in health and safety with a focus on driving safety culture improvements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and strategic thinking.
- Willingness to travel 15-30% of the time to plant sites.
