Due to continued growth, we are excited to add a Fire Alarm Representative to our team in Mechanicville, NY.  The Fire Alarm Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships while identifying, estimating, and selling fire alarm systems, inspections, service agreements, and related life safety solutions. This role focuses on generating new business, expanding existing accounts, and delivering solutions that meet customer needs while aligning with applicable codes and company standards.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, property managers, building owners, engineers, and end users.
  • Identify and pursue new fire alarm sales opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and presentations for fire alarm systems and related services.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate customer needs and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and service teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Maintain knowledge of NFPA codes, local AHJ requirements, and industry standards.
  • Generate and manage a sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, and existing customer relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing, scope, and contract terms within company guidelines.
  • Track sales activities, opportunities, and forecasts in CRM system.
  • Attend industry events, trade associations, and networking opportunities to promote company services.
  • Support customers throughout the sales cycle and maintain long-term relationships for repeat business.
  • Meet or exceed established sales and gross margin targets.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in fire alarm, low voltage, security, or related technical sales preferred.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems, life safety systems, and applicable industry standards preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications preferred.
  • Experience preparing estimates and proposals.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory.

Preferred Certifications

  • NICET certification preferred.
  • Manufacturer certifications are a plus.
