Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Monitors site conditions, practices, and procedures for compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Work with any on-site safety personnel for the owner or GC to assure a safe job site.
  • Consistently walks the job to assure SPC and its partners are working safely.
  • Consistently walks the jobsite for any others hazards that may affect SPC or its partners.
  • Implements controls to abate or minimize safety hazards.
  • Selects and implements corrective action and follow-ups to ensure proper action has been taken.
  • Conduct toolbox talks as needed
  • May be asked to fill put daily/weekly paperwork hard copy or in computer programs.
  • Records inspection information and compiles it into written reports.
  • May assist in the mitigation of hazardous material incidents.
  • Serves as a principal source of information on health and safety issues.
  • Assists with the development and administration of programs, reports, and employee training.
  • May create Site Specific Safety Plans, Confined Space Plans, Fall Protection Plans and various other needed specific and related safety plans.
  • Be comfortable training workers in numerous safety topics.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and avoid unsafe behaviors.
  • Investigates causes of accidents to identify preventive safety measures for incorporation into the safety program.
  • Safely climb ladders, scaffolding and various types of lifts on daily basis.
  • Safely lift/carry up to 40 pounds without assistance on a daily basis.
  • Promotes positive safety culture throughout organization

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

5 years of experience in construction safety and health management. OSHA 30-hour construction and/or related safety certification.
