Responsibilities
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship on EHS matters across all operating units.
- Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental laws and safety regulations.
- Oversee the EHS auditing process and lead peer safety reviews to maintain high standards of compliance and safety.
- Manage, refine, and enforce the company's Health and Safety programs, ensuring they align with legal standards and company objectives.
- Direct the preparation and submission of environmental permit applications and handle permit renewals and modifications.
- Keep abreast of new and adjusted regulatory requirements and ensure the company's compliance strategies are updated accordingly.
- Lead due diligence for M&A activities from an EHS perspective.
- Act as the Assistant Business Administrator for the Benchmark Gensuite EHS compliance system, optimizing its use throughout the company.
Job Requirements
Minimum Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over ten years of EHS experience with more than five years in a management role.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory EHS frameworks, including CAA, CWA, SDWA, EPCRA, CERCLA, and OSHA.
- Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects and challenges simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel 15-30% to various plant sites for oversight and compliance assurance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Strong background in implementing and monitoring continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS).
- Demonstrated history of improving safety culture within an industrial or corporate setting.
- Experience in handling regulatory matters related to TSCA and other chemical safety laws.
